Terms of Service

1. Overview

RC-Exchange (“we,” “our,” or “the platform”) operates an online marketplace at rc-exchange.com that connects buyers and sellers of radio-controlled (RC) cars, trucks, parts, and accessories. By creating an account or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use RC-Exchange. By creating an account, you represent that you are of legal age and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Buying

3.1 Payment & Escrow

All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. RC-Exchange never stores your full card details. When you purchase an item, your payment is held in escrow by the platform and is not released to the seller until delivery is confirmed.

3.2 Delivery Confirmation & Payout

Delivery may be confirmed in three ways: (a) you click “Confirm delivery” on your order page, (b) carrier tracking reports the package as delivered, after which funds are released automatically 24 hours later, or (c) if no tracking update is received, funds auto-release 14 days after the seller marks the item shipped. Do not confirm delivery until you have received and inspected the item. If you receive a damaged, incorrect, or empty package — or if tracking shows delivered but you did not receive anything — contact support@rc-exchange.com before the 24-hour review window closes so we can hold the payout while the issue is resolved.

3.3 Returns & Refunds

RC-Exchange does not set a universal return policy. Each seller may have their own return policy communicated via the listing description or Q&A. If the item is not as described or arrives damaged, contact the seller and support@rc-exchange.com immediately. We may issue a refund at our sole discretion if a seller fails to resolve the issue.

4. Selling

4.1 Seller Requirements

To sell on RC-Exchange, you must verify your email address, connect a verified Stripe account, and provide a valid ship-from address. You are responsible for accurately describing your item, including its condition, compatibility, and any defects. Listings must include photos of the actual item.

4.2 Fees

RC-Exchange charges a 5% platform fee on the item price at the time of sale. There are no listing fees. The fee is automatically deducted from your payout. Shipping costs are paid by the buyer and retained by the platform to cover the cost of shipping labels. Stripe may also charge processing fees on the total transaction.

4.3 Shipping

Sellers must ship items within a reasonable timeframe (typically 3 business days) after receiving payment. You are responsible for packaging items securely and providing accurate tracking information. RC-Exchange is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

4.4 Payouts

Payouts are released to your connected Stripe account when delivery is confirmed. Stripe deposits funds to your linked bank account on their normal schedule (typically 2–7 business days depending on your country and bank). You are responsible for any taxes owed on your earnings.

5. Prohibited Items & Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on RC-Exchange:

  • Firearms, ammunition, weapons, or weapon components of any kind
  • Illegal substances, drug paraphernalia, or controlled items
  • Stolen property or items you do not have the legal right to sell
  • Counterfeit goods, bootlegs, or unauthorized replicas
  • Live animals, animal parts, or products derived from endangered species
  • Hazardous materials, explosives, or flammable items
  • Stolen or unauthorized digital goods, accounts, or codes
  • Adult content, sexually explicit items, or obscene material
  • Items that promote hate speech, violence, or discrimination
  • Any item or listing that violates applicable local, state, or federal law

We reserve the right to remove any listing, suspend any account, and report illegal activity to law enforcement at our sole discretion. Attempting to list prohibited items may result in immediate account termination without refund of any pending payouts.

5.1 Additional Conduct Rules

Users may not harass, threaten, or defraud other users. Attempting to complete transactions outside of RC-Exchange to avoid platform fees, or using the messaging system to solicit off-platform sales, is prohibited.

6. Disputes & Chargebacks

Most issues can be resolved between buyers and sellers through the listing’s Q&A section or direct messaging. If you are unable to reach a resolution, contact support@rc-exchange.com.

If a buyer files a chargeback (or dispute) with their bank or card issuer, the related funds will be frozen in escrow while the chargeback is resolved. We will provide the payment processor with transaction records, shipping confirmation, and delivery tracking to support the seller’s case. The final decision rests with the card issuer. If a chargeback is decided in the buyer’s favor, the funds are returned to the buyer and the seller will not receive their payout. If the chargeback is decided in the seller’s favor, the funds are released normally. In either case, the card network’s chargeback fee may apply and is the responsibility of the losing party.

7. Limitation of Liability

RC-Exchange is a venue that facilitates transactions between users. We are not a party to the sale contract between buyer and seller. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RC-Exchange is not liable for:

  • The condition, quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listed item
  • Any failure by a seller to ship an item or by a buyer to pay for an item
  • Items lost, damaged, or delayed during shipping
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform

Our total liability for any claim related to the platform is limited to the greater of the platform fees we earned on the relevant transaction or $100.

8. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, prolonged inactivity, or at our discretion. Upon termination, any pending payouts will be processed according to the normal delivery-confirmation rules outlined above. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@rc-exchange.com.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify registered users via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
